Why do I need God?

About the Tournament:
The local tournament, hosted by the Mississippi FCA, will be held this year on the emerald fairways and greens of the Reunion Golf Course. Players will have the opportunity to help raise funds to support the ministry of FCA in Mississippi and enjoy a round of golf on one of Mississippi’s premiere golf courses.

The top six winning teams (three Gross Score winners and three Net Score winners) will advance to the State Playoff at Old Waverly Golf Course, October 8th. The top four teams from the State Playoff (two Gross and two Net score winners) will advance to the National Scramble to be held at the TPC at Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, November 16-18, 2007.

Who is Jake Mills?
Jake Mills was a successful Mississippi businessman who served on the IHL Board and the National Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board. He also served as the first President of the Mississippi FCA Executive Board and funded the ministry of FCA in Mississippi for several years, until financial support stabilized.

Jake and his wife, Jane, had a heart for reaching coaches and their spouses. They believed that touching the lives of coaches and their spouses would impact families and the lives of athletes. Because of their calling and the ministry opportunities through FCA, the lives of many coaches, their spouses and athletes have been changed nationwide.

The Jake Mills FCA Golf Tournament was established in memory of Jake and his impact in Mississippi through FCA. A portion of the proceeds from the tournament will go into the Jake & Jane Mills Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for coaches to attend an FCA Coaches Camp.
